San Francisco
Via Silver Cloud
(1942 Market St // Mission)
This staple has been a foundation in the karaoke scene with its large selection of tunes, full bar, and relaxed atmosphere. Feel free to sing your heart out without fear of being judged! Be sure to reserve a table if you've got a big group, because you can expect to wait for your turn, especially on weekends.
(1994 Lombard St // Marina)
If you're looking for a good time, look no further — this restaurant & bar has it all, with karaoke every night starting at 9pm. This is the kind of place you hit up if you're feeling brave, since the stage is right off the bar.
(50 Mason St. // Union Square)
This karaoke staple is best known for its themed rooms, which happen to be half off every Monday & Tuesday. It's worth noting, there’s a big difference between going to a public karaoke bar and renting a private room by the hour—belting it out with your closest friends is a complete game-changer.
Via Festa Karaoke Lounge
(1825A Post St // Polk Gulch)
With a menu full of signature cocktails, sake, and wine, you're sure to have plenty of liquid courage to get you through a night of crooning with your homies. Enjoy Festa's festive light wall so you can get into main character mode when you take the stage.
(3910 Geary Blvd // Inner Richmond)
With a full bar and private karaoke rooms open until the wee hours of the morning, 3910 knows how to throw down. Bring your own food and grab a beer, so you can settle in for the night with a mic in hand. If you want to be guaranteed a private spot to sing it loud, be sure to call for a reservation.
(1704 Post St // Japantown)
If you're in search of a spot to sing that's a little more low key, Pagoda is worth checking out. Tucked away in the Japantown mall, stepping into this spot feels a lot like stepping into a bar in Japan. You'll find drinks and a ton of songs to choose from.
East Bay
Via Mel-O-Dee
(240 El Cerrito Plz // El Cerrito)
Mel-O-Dee is an El Cerrito staple that's been pouring up cocktails for more than 50 years. It's a cool spot with old Vegas vibes, and karaoke nights four days a week from Wednesday through Saturday. The drinks are cheap, the tunes are great, and the mood is right—the only thing that's missing is you!
(21995 Mission Blvd // Hayward)
This place actually has it all: drinks, snacks, and all the equipment necessary to use your phone to sing any song you want. Open until 4am on weekends, this might just be the latest you can stay out in The Bay. Plus, if you want to remember your amazing night of terrible singing forever, they'll make a recoding of your session for you.
(2272 Telegraph Ave // Oakland)
Picture this: you try some whiskeys, sing a song, play a round or two of pinball, then repeat. You won't get a private room to keep your embarrassment to yourself, but the Legionnaire is a friendly neighborhood whiskey bar that won't judge you too harshly. They have craft cocktails and karaoke every night of the week!
(2516 Durant Ave // Berkeley + 4390 Telegraph Ave // Oakland)
We have good news and bad news -- the bad news is, Jaguar Karaoke doesn't serve food or drinks. The good news is you can bring your own! Singularly focused on singing, they'll make sure you have a great night.
South Bay + Peninsula
Via 7 Bamboo Lounge
(162 Jackson St // San Jose)
With karaoke beginning every night at 7pm, 7 Bamboo is more than just a bar with a karaoke setup, it's an experience. Be warned, this is a pretty small place, but the crowd is friendly and you shouldn't be afraid to sing and sweat it out right alongside the regulars. They even have themed nights like Wig Wednesdays!
(1132 South De Anza Blvd // San Jose)
Though Music Tunnel doesn't serve alcohol, they do serve boba and a variety of tasty snacks, making it a more family oriented joint that's still a great time. They have private rooms available for rent, and as a bonus, go for your birthday and you'll get a percentage discount that matches the age you're turning!
(221 Park Rd // Burlingame)
On Wednesdays, we go to Vinyl Room. Undoubtedly Burlingame's wildest sing-along, this bar refers to the weekly event as dance karaoke, which (depending on your feelings about karaoke in the first place) may raise more questions than it answers. The only reasonable solution: go down and check it out.
(Multiple Locations)
For those cold and rainy winter days when you're not sure what to do but definitely don't want to be outside, Round 1 Entertainment is worth scoping out. Sure, they have karaoke, but they've also got food, bowling, arcade games, darts, ping pong, and oh so much more.
North Bay
Via Downtown Joe's
(902 Main St // Napa)
Napa isn't exactly a place that screams karaoke night, but Downtown Joe's is a waterfront brewery and restaurant that holds two a week. Swing by the bar on Monday or Tuesday for a chance at the mic, or start off with a beer flight and some chili cheese fries. You'll be channeling your inner rockstar in no time.
(724 B Street // San Rafael)
This sports bar is full of beer, food, and events, so you can enjoy some bites and brews while enjoying a night out! Join their weekly Karaoke Nights on Tuesdays, from 10pm - 1:30am, for drinks and specials, plus prizes! And of course... karaoke.
(Location Varies)
Live Band Karaoke is exactly what it sounds like, which means taking your singing experience to the next level. The band pops up at various bars and other locations in North Bay from time to time, and signs up singers in advance via email. Check out their Facebook page for upcoming events!
